Terms and Conditions Legal Adult Agreeing for Themselves and Children/ Wards: I acknowledge that I am aware of the by-laws, rules, regulations and traditional policies that are issued, distributed, posted or otherwise generally known for any instruction, competition or event directly or indirectly related to The Lake of Bays Sailing Club Inc. (“LBSC”) and other similar associations and agree to be bound by them. I have read and agree to the Membership Information & Fees, LBSC Payment Policies, LBSC Parent Code of Conduct and LBSC Participant Code of Conduct as outlined in the annual Handbook to the membership of LBSC. CANSail Program participants must be 8 years of age by December 31, 2023, Young Salts Program participants must be 7 years of age by December 31, 2023. No exceptions will be made. Proof of age is required for all newcomers. Junior Sailors must be able to swim a minimum of 50 yards and tread water or float for five minutes. Tests will be given on the first day of the program. All Sailors must have their own Government approved life jackets or PFDs and must be worn at all times on the water. Junior Sailors and Members who cause damage willfully or through neglect to LBSC boats and property shall be assessed for repairs or replacement costs. Acceptance into our Junior Program will be based on the order of receipt of the completed application, agreement to Terms and Conditions, agreement to Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk, agreement to Concussion Code of Conduct and full payment until capacity is reached. Enrollment in any weekly session is based on availability and is only guaranteed after all required registration documentation and full payment for that session is received. We will attempt to accommodate your request for either the morning class or the afternoon class; however, LBSC retains the right to make adjustments due to enrollment. Priority acceptance into the Junior Sailing Program will be given to members of LBSC. Refunds will be considered if the request is received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the weekly session for which the refund is requested. Please submit the request, preferably via e-mail to the Secretary, with copies to the Treasurer and the Head Instructor. Refunds will be applied in their entirety to future instruction weeks in the same sailing season for the same membership family. Otherwise, a cancellation fee of $25 will apply. Refunds will be made without penalty if withdrawal is required for medical reasons. Requests for refunds for withdrawals due to extenuating circumstances will be considered on an individual basis. Note: No refunds are available for individual days, as sailing instruction is paid for on a weekly (Monday to Friday) basis. Refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. Participation in the Thursday Junior Activity Nights is limited to those registered in the CANSail or Young Salts Program and house guests who are a minimum of 9 years of age. I acknowledge that should my child participate in off-lake regattas, I may be required to drive sailors and/or trailer boats. No instruction will be given without a completed application, agreement to Terms and Conditions, agreement to Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk, agreement to Concussion Code of Conduct and full payment.
